Roberto Salas is a site-specific public art artist whose community art projects, murals and sculptural commissions can be found nationally and internationally. As a Indo-Hispano educator who grew up in the desert border city of El Paso Texas, he has since relocated to the coastal border city of San Diego, where his personal interests vary from cultivating cactus, performing as a mariachi, world travel and afternoon bull fights for relaxation.
"Through the past twenty years of experience creating art works for site specific environments, it has been my goal to improve the quality of life by making art which is accessible conceptually and physically to communities of people who are unfamiliar with the sanctity of museums and galleries. My goal is to demonstrate a versatility in mediums specific to each site, unifying color, and thematic relative concerns".
